Tailor Made Ski Touring Course

the haute route chamonix zermatt by ski touring, will link the two capitals of modern alpinism, at the very heart of the Alps.

Our + : All our guides are very good teachers. They will be keen to help you progress individually during the Haute Route Chamonix to Zermatt ski touring
This 6 days journey across the splendors of the high mountains will forever transform you.
The HAUTE ROUTE CHAMONIX ZERMATT, classic itinerary can be modified and will be flexible in order to for variations, depending on the groups’ ability.

Duration : 6 Days
Dates 2023 :

- 12th, 19th and 26th of March
- 2th, 9th and 16h of April
On request any weeks from mid of March to the end of April

Groupe size:

Minimum of 4 clients and maximum 6 clients, to ensure everybody’s safety.

Skills taught: Skills that we will cover during the week:
- Glacier travel,
- Risk evaluation on glacial terrain,
- the use of Avalanche Beacons and related equipment.
Price :

600 €/person

We complete the group as one goes along inquiries.

The price includes : the cost of a Guide for 6 days, avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel and harness for the first 4 personns
It doesn't include :
- Half board in 5 huts, for you and the guide (we reserve ourselves)
- Ski Lifts
- Lunches for you and the guide from D1 to D6
- Taxi transfers Champex-Chable.
- Ski gear for the course (around 230 euros for 7 days)
- Taxi transfers Zermatt-Chamonix ; water and shower in huts
- All which is not included in "the price includes"

Sunday :

Chamonix – Argentière hut - Elevation gain : 200 m - Descent : 3000 m , Timing : 5 hours
Meeting point : At 09.00am in Chamonix for a briefing and to check the equipment.
After 1 nice descent of the Aiguille des Grands Montets, we will practice some avalanche awarness. Then we will go down the Argentiere glacier towards the argentiere hut (2771 m) where we will spend the night.

Monday :

Argentière hut – Montfort hut - Elevation gain : 1200 m - Descent : 2400m, Timing : 6 to 7 hours
We start touring up to the Col du Chardonnet (3325m), before we ski down to the Saleina glacier. From there we skin up to the Fenêtre de Saleina, then descend underneath the Aiguilles Dorées).
After crossing the Trient glacier, we pass through the Fenêtre de Chamois (2985m), from where we start skiing down to the Val d’Arpette.
The descent ends 1300m further down in Champex. A quick transfer by bus brings us to Le Chable, from where we take the cable car up to Mont Fort. A quick descent and we are at the Mont-fort hut

Tuesday :

Montfort hut – Prafleuri hut - Elevation gain : 1000m - Descent : 800 m, Timing : 6 hours
Mont-Fort 2457m hut to la Chaux pass 2940m, a quick descent then Momin pass. Then we can ski tour up to the summit of Rosablanche (3336 m). From there, we have a beautiful ski descent down to the Prafleuri hut.

Wednesday :

Cabane de Prafleuri - Pas du Chat -Pas de Chèvre-Arolla - Elevation gain : 800 m - Descent : 1300 m, Timing : 6 hours
Today we ski tour up and along Lac des Dix. The terrain is quite flat, and a good sliding technique helps to preserve energy reserves needed for later. Thel Pas de Chat then the Pas de Chèvre and we will have a great descent to Arolla; We will sleepon a very nice hotel.

Thursday :

Arolla - Cabane de Bertol - Elevation gain 1343 m, Timing : 5 hours
Today is a great ski touring day, we climb up to the most beautifull and famous Haute Route hut, Bertol. It's a very special place, you will never forget it !!

Friday :

Cabane de Berthol – Zermatt : Elevation gain : 550 m Descent : 2 110 m, Timing : 4hours
We ski tour up to the beautiful summit of Tête Blanche ( 3724 m ), which allows for amazing views of the Zermatt valley. An impressive descent down the Stocki glacier brings us to the finalccccs destination of our adventure.
From there, a bus ride will bring us back to Chamonix and to reality, filled with the memory of this beautiful high alpine world, left behind.
