5 days of a great ice fall climbing introduction in chamonix

OUR + :All our guides are very good teachers. They will be keen to help you progress individually during this Chamonix Ice Climbing introduction course.
This course is designed to give participants a hands-on introduction to ice climbing. Building solid ice climbing skills and confident climbers is the main focus

Duration : 5 Days
Dates 2023 :

- Every week from January to the beginning of March
On request any weeks from beginning of January to the mid of March

Groupe size:

Maximum 4 clients, to ensure everybody’s safety.

Skills taught: Develop your skills on ice climbing :
- Ice Climbing : grade IV
- Dry-tooling climbing : grade M4,
- belaying, rope management
- learn the fundamentals of lead climbing
- Efficient use of safety equipment on this terrain, including ice screws, nuts, ice axe etc
- Evaluate Ice and Snow conditions
Price :

1900€/person if you are alone,
1000€/person if you are 2,
750€/person if you are 3 persons,

We complete the group as one goes along inquiries.

Monday :

Cremerie des Glaciers Ice Fall, 70 m - Grade III+.
Meeting at 9 am in Chamonix to get to know and check the hardware. Then we will go right at the foot of the Argentiere glacier in Glacier Creamery ice Fall Climbing Schooll.
You'll discover how to best use crampons and ice axes in lengths of Ice Falls between 70 ° and 75 ° to 30 m high . We also realize one Ice Fall of 70 m.

Tuesday :

EMHM I Ice Fall , 110 m - Grade IV.
Located on the left bank of the Argentiere glacier , this beautiful Ice Fall of 110 meters high at 80 ° max, is already a little trip .
You can admire the Ice Falls of the right side of the galcier, many of which reference Ice Fall Grade VI . We can make belays in the first length to climb the rock ( dry-tooling *) or fine ice, which is always rewarding.

Wednesday :

Gorges de l’Arveyron ice falls, 50 m - Grade III à V..
The gorges offer a variety of Ice Falls in a magical setting . You will start the Ice Falls often a few meters from the clear and powerful water Arveyron .
The Ice Falls here are very carved and will often climb just by putting your tools in holes , it is the so-called lock picking technique. Guests can start second in cascades of grades V at 90 ° to test your strength.

Thursday :

Mini Couloir Ice Fall , 60 m – Grade IV – Déferlante Ice fall , 40 m.
Two pretty Ice Falls are scheduled for that day . They are located again on the left bank of the glacier of Argentiere , with a chute atmosphere for Mini Corridor.
Each offers numerous ascents options , so we can achieve this Ice Falls several times in particular by lines in dry-tooling * .

Friday :

Troulero Ice Fall 190 m – Grade IV+.
For this last training day , we will go into the black water valley in Switzerland 2 km from the border. The Ice Fall is nice and cool in a deep gorge where everything is ice.
We will have to climb 4 lengths of Ice Fall with numerous but short passages at 90 °, all in a wonderful atmosphere.
Back to Chamonix, we will check all you learn during this Ice Fall climbing course in front of a nice beer !!
