Levels
Glacier hike
All coursesFirst experience on a glacier. You are used to hiking in the mountains and curious to discover the glacial universe. Physical condition for 4-5 hours of walking.
You have already practiced glacier hiking or easy mountaineering. Good control of crampons and ice ax. 5-6 hours of effort are accessible without difficulty.
Regular glacier experience (5+ outings). Autonomy in roped progression and basic glacier techniques. Very good physical condition.
Experienced practitioner (10+ outings). You master glacier safety techniques and approach technical itineraries. Excellent stamina.
Expert glacier hiker. Perfect mastery of advanced techniques and able to organize your safety on any type of glacial terrain. Exceptional condition.
Icefall
All coursesFirst ice climbing experience. You practice climbing or hiking and want to discover this activity. Physical condition allowing 4-5 hours of activity.
1 to 3 cascading outings carried out. You master the basics of traction axe and frontal cramponnage. Good physical condition for 5-6 hours of effort.
Regular waterfall practice (5+ outings). Solid technique on ice up to 85°. Very good physical condition for 6-7 hours of sustained activity.
Experienced climber (10+ outings). Able to lead on vertical ice and manage your safety. 7-8 hours of intense effort without difficulty.
Confirmed glacialist. Perfect mastery of advanced techniques and capable of facing committed itineraries. Exceptional endurance for 8h+ of effort.
Mountaineering
All coursesFirst mountaineering experience. You practice hiking or climbing and want to discover the high mountains. Physical condition allowing 4-5 hours of effort.
Beginner mountaineering (1-3 outings). You evolve with ease on steep paths and easy rocks. Good physical condition for 5-6 hours of activity.
Regular mountaineering practice (5+ outings). Mastery of basic techniques (roping, belaying). Very good physical condition for 6-7 hours of effort.
Experienced mountaineer (10+ races). Capable of evolving independently on varied terrain (rock, snow, easy ice). Endurance for 7-8 hours of intense effort.
Experienced mountaineer with significant experience. You manage the itinerary and the safety on difficult and committed terrain. Exceptional physical condition.
Off-piste skiing
All coursesYou ski easily on red slopes and explore the slopes. You want to discover supervised off-piste skiing. Physical condition allowing 4-5 hours of activity.
You occasionally practice backcountry skiing. At ease on black slopes and able to adapt your technique according to the snow. 5-6 hours of effort without difficulty.
Regular backcountry skier. You are in control of all snow and conditions. You are looking for more challenging routes with slopes of up to 35°. Good stamina.
Experienced backcountry skier. Solid technique in deep snow, crust and varied terrain. Capable of facing slopes of up to 40° and narrow passages.
Expert in backcountry skiing. Impeccable technique in all conditions, including steep slopes (45°+). Experience in extreme skiing and technical lanes.
Rock climbing
All coursesFirst climbing experience. You practice outdoor sports and want to discover verticality. Normal physical condition for 4-5 hours of activity.
Beginner in climbing (1-3 outings). You master the basics (spinning, simple belaying). Good physical condition allowing 5-6 hours of climbing per day.
Regular climber (5+ outings). Cliff experience and easy routes. Capable of climbing at the head on routes up to 5c. Very good physical condition.
Experienced climber (level 6a-6c). Technical mastery on various types of rock and long routes. Excellent physical condition for intense days.
Experienced climber (level 6c+). Experience of the main roads undertaken on all types of rock. Exceptional endurance to combine several lengths.
Ski Touring
All coursesFirst experience in ski touring. You are an intermediate skier on the slopes (controlled red slopes). Physical condition allowing 4-5 hours of moderate effort.
Beginner in ski touring (1-3 outings). You master conversions and basic techniques. Versatile skier capable of facing different types of snow.
Regular practice (5+ outings). Good technique in all snow, including off-trail. Capable of elevations of 800-1000m. Very good physical condition.
Experienced ski hiker (10+ outings). Solid technique in all conditions. Multi-day shopping experience. Height differences of 1200-1500m possible.
Expert and autonomous skier. Impeccable technique in all terrain. Exceptional endurance for ambitious raids and technical passages. Capable of significant differences in altitude.
Winter mountaineering
All coursesFirst mountaineering experience. You practice hiking or climbing and want to discover the progression on winter terrain. 4-5 hours of moderate effort are available to you.
Introduction to mountaineering already completed. You evolve with ease in crampons on snow and easy ice. Good physical condition allowing 5-6 hours of effort per day.
Regular practice (5+ outings) in winter terrain. You master cramponnage and ice axe traction. Very good stamina for 6-7 hours of sustained activity.
Confirmed winter mountaineer (10+ outings). Excellent technique on ice and mixed. You manage insurance independently and endure 7-8 hours of intense effort.
Expert and autonomous winter mountaineer. Ability to evolve on a committed, technical and exposed field. Exceptional condition for 8h+ of intense activity at altitude.
