Chamonix climbing advanced course
Chamonix climbing course 5 days improvement. Major technical routes on granite with expert guide. Progression on demanding routes in the Aiguilles.

IN details

You already climb a cliff (minimum level 5c, see: Climbing Level) and have you always dreamed of discovering the High Mountains? So let us guide you! The Aiguilles Rouges offer ideal terrain for climbing beautiful walls, but also for accessing a certain autonomy in this terrain. We will follow in the footsteps of big names in mountaineering such as Rébuffat, who signed his first openings here in the Mont Blanc region. Good physical condition required.
During this week we will see how:
- Climb long routes of at least 200 m, level 5+ max,
- Ensuring a second and a first of cordée,
- Carry out a safe reminder,
- Know how to recover the equipment put in place by the first rope player (wedges, pegs, straps).
- Climb to the top of the level 4 to 4+ lengths.
Insurance : You must inquire with your insurance company to find out if you are covered for this activity. If you are French, you have the choice of obtaining the license CIF or FFME , or even The Old Camper card. If you are English, you can find supplementary insurance on www.thebmc.co.uk

School of crack climbing and wedge installation in Brévent > Voie Frison-Roche, 200 m, 5c mandatory.
Meet at 8 am in Chamonix to get to know each other. We will then take the Brévent cable car at the top of which there is a granite climbing school. After a morning spent climbing cracks and installing wedges, we will leave to put all this into practice on the Brévent in the 200 m Frison-Roche route. This modern route already offers a good approach to mountain climbing, especially with a long chimney length. Return and night in the valley.
South edge of the Aiguille de la Glière (2663 m), 400 m, 5 a maximum.
It is “The great classic” of the Aiguilles Rouges. This long and beautiful edge will give us the opportunity to do a large number of very fun rope manipulations. You will learn to progress on the move (all together) safely. It is the best terrain to get the “mountain foot”. Return and night in the valley.
Voie Perroux, 260 m, 5c maximum, Aiguille de l'Index (2595 m).
Voie Perroux, 260 m, 5c maximum, Aiguille de l'Index (2595 m). It will be time for you to climb first of the rope. This route, although fully equipped, maintains its “mountain” character with plenty of space between the insurance points. You will therefore have to add your protections (friends, wedges, straps) between the spits. You will see that the lengths of 4 in this style of terrain take on another dimension when you are in the lead! Return and night in the valley.
Cocher-Cochon, 250 m, 5c maximum and crossing Clocher-Clocheton (2428 m), 150 m, 4c maximum.
The combination of these 2 routes is splendid. We will climb these 400 m of climbing in the sun facing Mont Blanc. The first part “Cocher-Cochon” is a modern path mainly in slab. The second part “Traversée Clocher-Clocheton” is a great classic opened in 1913! Climbing is easy and zip-lining between the first and second Clocheton will leave you with unforgettable memories! Return and night in the valley.
Rieffel/Fournier road, 300 m, 5c+ maximum, at Loaf de Sucre (2646 m).
To finish this week we will climb the magnificent south face of Sugar Loaf, located in the Perrons Range. We will have to go by car to Lake Emosson in Switzerland and from there walk 1 hour 45 minutes to access this wild wall. We will climb into a High Mountain terrain that requires a great deal of experience to best insure ourselves. The lengths are all beautiful and varied. Return to Chamonix at the end of the day to review the course.

I had a great time climbing with Sébastien. I changed the stay due to the weather and was able to find dry rock in rainy weather. Throughout the stay, Sébastien not only offered me numerous climbs, but also helped me improve my skills.
Sébastien was a fantastic guide. I had a great time and learned a lot. I would definitely use him as a guide; the climbing and route choices were also excellent.
Thanks to Sebastien L you are pushing your limits! Demanding but attentive, he will take you to discover landscapes off the beaten track... with a cool attitude. In short, a great guide!
