Our 5-day beginner mountaineering course is designed to help you discover mountaineering gently.

The course is aimed at beginners who wish to do an introduction to mountaineering in Chamonix in a magnificent setting. You will climb 3 very beautiful peaks: the Petite Verte (3512 m), the Pointe Lachenal (3617) and the Arête des Cosniques (3842m). Superb program for this discovery mountaineering course, accessible to mountaineering beginners! Good physical condition required.

Discover the complete course of your internship day by day. Each stage is designed for your technical progress and safety in the mountains with an experienced guide.

Course length : 5 days

Day 1

Ice school on the Mer de Glace

Meet at 8 am at the Montenvers cog train station. Ascend to Montenvers by cog train. Descent to the Mer de Glace by the ladders. Participants' equipment. Teaching of cramponning techniques, the use of ice axes, belaying and rappelling. Descent into the Chamonix valley at the end of the day by cog train. Dinner and night in a cottage in Chamonix.

Day 2

Rock climbing school at Rocher des Gaillands

Breakfast at the cottage. go to the Rocher des Gaillands, located near Chamonix. Learning climbing techniques (belaying, abseiling, etc.). Dinner and night at the cottage.

Day 3

Ascension of the Petite Aiguille Verte (3512m)

Breakfast at the cottage. At 8:30am, take the Grands Montets cable car up. Ascension of the Petite-Baiguille Verte: Descent from the track and into the valley by cable car. Night in a cottage

Day 4

Ascension of Lachenal Points (3613 m)

Breakfast at the cottage. At 8:30am, take the cable car up to the Aiguille du Midi. Descent to the crest of the Aiguille du Midi Then cross the glacier of the Col du Midi to reach the foot of the track. Ascension of Lachenal Points. Go back down the track and cross the Glacier to reach the Cosmices' refuge. Dinner and night at the refuge

Day 5

Ascension of the Cosmic Ridge (3842m)

Breakfast at the shelter. Ascension of the Cosmic Ridge. Arrival of the track at the Aiguille du Midi. Pause to admire the exceptional landscape then go back down to Chamonix in the afternoon by cable car. End of the internship.
